You are able to take your own photos with animals and the staff will even use your phone if you ask, you aren't required to buy any. We got so many great photos but we bought one anyhow because its a nice souvenir if you don't want toys or tshirts. Also if you research in advance you can buy a package that includes lunch and an animal feed ticket! You just have to buy drinks if you like but they have free water at the restaurant. The food is buffet style and is fresh and tasty, and suitable for all dietary requirements veggies, tofu, tempeh, fish, chicken, and beef. Considering our package included transport it was a total bargain and the people who are complaining should consider researching tickets in advance and appreciate what's on offer. Although it may be small, the chance to encounter all of those endangered species up close and in some cases in your arms! is unforgettable and I definitely would recommend it for someone who has only been to large zoos where animal sightings let alone encounters are minimal. I got to hold a gentle monkey, bear cat, and baby crocodile! And feeding the elephant was the highlight of my trip I don't regret the USD the extra bucket of food for him cost me...it was so much that I shared it with a family of boys who wanted to try it. Not some kind of rip-off whatsoever. Entry cost for family of 4 is US $ 100, Photos cost $16 , Elephant rides $50 70 metre ride, hand feeding animals incurs additional cost, the charges don't stop. The flora is interesting, but the Zoo itself looks a little tired, not many animals to look at, and enclosures are cramped and small. I was surprised we weren't charged an exit fee !! We are only there for 5 days and want to get the most of our time, i was wondering if they were basically the same kind of thing? We have 2 children 11 and 9. thanks Level Contributor 68 posts 154 reviews 40 helpful votes 1. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Marine Park? 11 years ago I haven't been to Bali Zoo though heading there in 3 weeks, to have a look as I know the guy who helped them improve the Zoo. I have been to Bali Marine and Safari Park and would highly recommend it. The animal show was terrific, the safari trek incredible and the Elephant show amazing. Loved seeing the Phirana getting fed and there is a small water park that the kids will love and rides to enjoy. A number of different packages, depending what you want from your day. Level Contributor 971 posts 31 reviews 17 helpful votes 2. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Marine Park? 11 years ago Definately the Safari Marine Park, more to see. The Bali Zoo is great too they have a petting zoo where you can feed the animals but if can only do one then the Safari Park. Level Contributor 1,602 posts 104 reviews 61 helpful votes 3. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Marine Park? 11 years ago The Safari Park is the pick if you can only go to one. They are both really good but are very different. The Bali Zoo is just that, a zoo but with some different activities that you don't get in Perth. We got to hold some animals and we even fed the lion a big piece of meat skewered on a piece of wire. You get to stand very close to the lion. You are separated by iron bars but it was still imposing. I'm sure the kids will love the safari park. Level Contributor 971 posts 31 reviews 17 helpful votes 9. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Marine Park? 11 years ago You can spend a half day there depending on what you want to do but you could easily stay there the entire day. There is heaps to do from the trip around the park in the trams and the animal shows and encounters as well as the rides and water park. The theatre show is really good too, they bring in the elephants for it. Also don't miss the educational show they put on at the outdoor stage, they only do it once a day but it is really funny, your kids will love it. watch out for the guinea pigs! Level Contributor 488 posts 97 reviews 50 helpful votes 1. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago Bali safari and marine park, was amazing soo much to do! And heaps of good interactive shows! Photos 6x4 inc in price plus free hat! We had photo with orangutan tiger baby elephant plus they only take one person at a time on the Elephants, hate seeing the elephants taking 2 or 3 people plus the rider/driver! They have 40 animal closers where they roam free, you go by bus! Saw piranhas eating a chicken amazing so fast! Great bird show aswell! All the elephants poo is kept there and they have there own papper mill poo =papper plus 6 water slides there! The restaurant is in the tiger garden with all walls made of glass! Its amazing experience, its 11 years old but was made to look like its 100 years old! The only down fall is its $120aus or more! But was the highlight of our trip to Bali! We were there for 5 hours, went soo fast, did not see all the sights! If you do go get a driver for the day, and he will be your guide as well! Our driver had been there 300plus times, told us what to see first etc Level Contributor 6,879 posts 123 reviews 83 helpful votes 2. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago Bali Bird Park was awesome. We were there in July 2015 and paid approximately $ each and I thought it was a bit expensive at the time. I soon changed my mind as it was so interesting. We were on a time schedule and was only there for 3 hours but could have spent a lot longer there. The have lots of different birds including Macaws, Eagles, Eclectus Parrot, Galahs, African Grey Parrots etc. There are bird shows at different times of the day which is all included in the admission price. All of the bird shows have all of the birds flying around out in the open. The bird show with the Macaws was just amazing. When you walk around the Bird Park there are a lot of the birds out in the open sitting in the trees or on top of posts next to the walkway. There is a restaurant there and the food we had there was very good. I would highly recommend Bali Bird Park and we will definitely be going back there but allowing more than 3 hours. Level Contributor 2,689 posts 42 reviews 31 helpful votes 5. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago Bali zoo for me, so much more to see. The bird park is ok but only if you are really into birds. Check Groupon out as i recently bought tickets for only A$21 for adults on there Level Contributor 4,090 posts 85 reviews 52 helpful votes 6. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago I thought the question was the Zoo or Bird Park. They are fairly close and you can fit both in in one day. I have been to both. Both have animal or bird handing, the Bird Park includes the Reptile Park and you can handle large goanas there. With the animal/bird handling the staff will take photos on your camera free of charge. The restaurants at both places are good with reasonable prices. For me the Bird Park has a slight edge. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago We visit the bird part every three trips or so, and have been 4 times so far. In November I was disappointed. A lot less birds in the walk through aviaries, and the Reptile Park is now very poor. Gone is the area with the iguanas mentioned in the post above and many displays are empty. I was there June 2015 so the decline must have been rapid. Destination Expertfor Tulamben, Lovina Beach Level Contributor 13,330 posts 62 reviews 100 helpful votes 9. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago rarefossil, if you hadn't been before, you may not have noticed a reduction in birds in the avaries. And that big section in the reptile park with the iguanas, tortoises etc was just locked up and empty. There were three iguanas jammed into one of the snake enclosures just outside....the snake long gone of course. The komodo dragon at the reptile park is also gone as is the big retic python and the vine snake. Staff kept badgering us to buy a live snake to feed the king cobra, and then to buy a chicken to feed a crocodile. The whole reptile park was dirty and kind of sad. The glass of the enclosures was dirty as well, rather like no one cares anymore. Level Contributor 850 posts 21 reviews 17 helpful votes 10. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Bird Park 7 years ago Um Zoo For me , now it was a few years ago we went to safari park and all i can say it was the most over priced day we ever could of had , plus it was so hot and the water park was quite new and water VERY dirty , there was no way any of us were going to swim in that. The following trip we went to the zoo OMG sooooo much cheaper and way more interaction with the animals . We loved it plenty of room for my sisters pram for the little one a. it was just a wonderfu day. It's a good day out without being too overwhelming. We were there's today with three 9 year olds. They keep doing it up and since January there is a new mini type water park, which is great for little kids as it is shallow and quite contained and new and clean, there are elephant and pony rides, petting zoo and opportunities to handle animals today was a monkey, little croc and a bear cat. It only cost 15US for kids to enter, but it can add up if you get the rides, buy food for feeding the animals, photos etc, but definitely worth going. Level Contributor 2,689 posts 42 reviews 31 helpful votes 3. Re bali zoo vs bali safari 8 years ago Just a tip in regard to cost if you go to the zoo. If you book online at the zoo website you save about 15% or if you book in the Bali discovery website you save more. Take some food and drink so you don't need to buy it or eat before you go. And I brought a big bag of peanuts and was allowed to feed the elephants, it was an awesome experience. Level Contributor 15 posts 2 reviews 5 helpful votes 4.
